Yin & Yang ... within us

In nature, Yang is the real of sky and air; Yin is the realm earth and vegetation. Yang raises up; Yin sinks downwards. Yang is active, light and warm; Yin is quite dark and cool. Yang doing change; Yin maintained stability. Yang is represented by Fire, Yin is represented by Water. They naturally complement each other. Their forces are seen at work everywhere in nature. You need to look at them as mutually interdependent. It is their dynamic balance rather then a measure of their quantity that is important.

In the human body, Yang is the field of activity, the sympathetic nervous system and the adrenal medulla. The sympathetic nervous system mobilises our resources for action, responds to stimuli, gets us ready and moving. It helps our brain to think on our feet and come up with new fresh ideas and solutions to our problems.

Yin is the complementary field. It is the parasympathetic nervous system and the adrenal cortex which governs the inner world of nutrition, maintenance, storage, healing and balance. When our parasympathetic nervous system is in dominance to start to heal.
